Graham Ransom, BSc., MBA
Graham has founded, grown, restructured, turned around and exited from UK technology businesses during the formative years of the 80's, the boom of the 90's and the bust following the Millennium.
With a career in IT spanning senior technology, marketing and sales responsibilities in organisations including Thorn EMI Datasolve, Thorn EMI Computeraid, Unisys, Memorex Telex, PCMC and Research Machines, Graham understands well the challenges faced by Entrepreneurs when building UK technology ventures.
In 1994, Graham joined technology industry figures Ken Olisa (formerly SVP of Wang EMEA) and Geoff Shingles (formerly VP of Digital Equipment Corporation) as a Director of Interregnum Venture Marketing Ltd. The mission was to work with high potential technology companies and their investors, playing a hands-on role throughout their lifecycle – from initial business concept, through start up to exit and beyond. During the 90’s, Graham was instrumental in building much of the strength in Interregnum’s unquoted portfolio of technology businesses and as a Director was part of the senior team that took Interregnum public in March 2000.
An experienced negotiator – especially in situations involving entrepreneurs and investors he has led, or been part of the leading team responsible for raising over £50m for early stage technology businesses over the last 10 years and taken a key role in setting their strategies and guiding them towards exit.
Graham has also performed advisory roles supporting technology investors in start up, investment, turnaround, restructuring, trade sale and roll-up initiatives. Investors have included: 3i, Royal Bank Development Capital, Bank of Scotland, Barclays Ventures, NatWest Ventures, Bank Austria, DLJ Phoenix and Hotbed.
Graham is a Freeman of the City of London, Member of the Institute of Management, Member of the Institute of Marketing and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
